Health Insurance.
whereabouts offers employer-sponsored health insurance.
Retirement.
We don't currently offer an employer-sponsored retirement plan.

32-hour work week.
Yes, really. Our standard work week is 32 hours. Core hours (the time when everyone's expected to be available) are Tuesday through Thursday 10:00am EST to 2:00pm EST. Outside of that, your schedule is yours to manage. Oh, and 32 hours is considered full-time employment.

PTO.
Time off at whereabouts is mandatory, not just permitted.
We require all staff to take at least 25 days of paid time off per year, not counting federal holidays or company-designated closures.
What new colleagues start with on day one:
30 days paid vacation time
10 days paid sick time
5 days paid religious or spiritual observance time
3 days paid wellness time
2 days paid volunteer time
Vacation time increases by one day for each year of service, maxing out at 45 days of paid vacation.
Federal Holidays.
11 paid federal holidays plus additional paid time adjacent to federal holidays. Let’s be honest, you’re either taking PTO or not actually working those adjacent days anyways. Just go touch grass while getting paid instead.
Winter Break.
Fully paid 2-week shutdown every year, including 2 additional federal holidays (Christmas Day and New Year’s).

Parental Leave.
3 months of fully paid, job-protected parental leave, no matter how you come to be a parent.
Transitional Period.
After the initial 3 months, colleagues have the option of an additional 3 months of job-protected half-hours, half-pay arrangement to ease the transition back.
Clawback.
Eligibility begins after 12 months of employment. A standard clawback applies: full repayment if you don't return, 50% repayment if you leave within 6 months of returning, no repayment required after 12 months back.

Every 4 consecutive years at whereabouts, colleagues are eligible for a 3-month fully paid sabbatical. Take a course. Travel. Rest. Write something. The time is yours. We don’t care what you do with it.

whereabouts is remote-only. We offer a home office stipend of up to $500 for work-related items. Employees are eligible for the stipend every 2 years of employment.

Every staff member receives one fully covered conference of their choice per year including registration, travel, and accommodation. This is separate from conferences required by client contracts, which are always covered. If you’re not a conference person, then you don’t have to go.

33% to the owner
33% to growth, research, & development
33% to employees
cash distribution
calculated by percentage of total calendar days of service from most recent term of employment with whereabouts
